It is a story about three people and their complicated emotional relationships. A mother and her 30-year-old son live in a poor district of a big city. She has problems with finding a job, while her son has graduated from a university and supposedly writes for a newspaper. Nonetheless, he finds it hard to pull himself together, in the reality of today. The mother is trying to convince him to make a new life for himself. Unfortunately, the mother is unexpectedly diagnosed with lung cancer, which ruins Janek’s life to date. The new situation requires of him to be mature, but that is exactly what he lacks. All of a sudden, a woman shows up in his life. Her name is Marta and Janek decides to use her in her game with the dying mother.
