Saoirse is a little girl, who is about to celebrate her 6th birthday. Unfortunately for her, nothing goes as planned. Her elder brother nags her, the father is immersed in his thoughts, and the mother passed away a long time ago. To make things even worse, her grumbling grandma pays a visit and she intends to take the siblings to a big city, which she considers to be a better place for them to live. The birthday party is a failure and Saoirse steals a shell her brother once got from their mother — she starts blowing the shell. The music produced by the shell leads her to a chest that contains a very peculiar coat. This way, Saoirse starts a journey, which will make her understand who she is and what happened to her mother...
