Muranów cinema was erected upon the ruins of the old Jewish district in Warsaw. It has layers of memories that carry a message of absence, destruction, and reconstruction. The film director sees the building not only as mere cinema, but also as a space where past and present coexist, and where images show traces of lives already gone. The film director has a personal connection with the cinema that dates back to 1961. That year, her parents met there accidentally - and it was also the beginning of her own life. The film constantly jumps between collective history and personal memories, using archive footage not as documents from a past that is already closed, but rather as images that are still alive. In place of standard interviews, we have the voice of the film director mixing observations and personal thoughts. In this context, Muranów cinema becomes both a witness and main protagonist of the story told on screen.
