Sisters Nora and Agnes come to meet their father Gustav, a charismatic film director whose glory days are already gone. It has been a while since they last saw their father. Gustav offers Nora, a theatre actress, the main role in his latest film which is designed to catapult him straight back into cinema greatness. When Nora declines the offer, Gustav decides to cast a young Hollywood star. On top of the already complicated relations with their father, the sisters must deal with the presence of the American film star who brings total chaos into the family dynamics. This is the latest film from Joachim Trier, director behind the comedy drama ‘The Worst Person in the World.’ The soundtrack for the film was composed by Polish pianist and composer Hani Rani.

A film director and screenwriter from Norway. He debuted with the comedy drama ‘Reprise’ (2006), which brought him the Best Director Award at the 41st edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, and the Discovery Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. Variety magazine named him one of ‘10 Directors to Watch.’ His sophomore film ‘Oslo, August 31st’ from 2011 had its première in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival, and went on to win a number of international awards, and a nomination for the César Award for Best Foreign Film (Meilleur film étranger). The English-language film ‘Louder Than Bombs’ from 2015, starring Jesse Eisenberg, Gabriel Byrne, and Isabelle Huppert, was one of the nominees for the Palme d’Or Award. The horror film ‘Thelma’ (2017) was selected the Norwegian candidate for Academy Awards. The films ‘The Worst Person in the World’ (2021) and ‘Sentimental Value’ (2025), the latter of which won an Academy Award for Best International Feature Film, are considered to be the peak of his film career.
