During the Cold War, John Nash, a brilliant mathematician from Princeton University, joins a team of cryptologists working for the U.S. Department of Defence. When he decides to cease his involvement in secret missions, he comes to believe his life is in danger. It soon turns out that the fears are the early symptoms of schizophrenia. His struggle with the disease is a test both for him and his supportive wife Alicia. John Nash learns to keep his hallucinations at bay and gradually restarts his academic career. In 1994, he receives a Nobel Prize in economics.
