It is the beginning of the 1990s in the Czech Republic. Karolina, a thirteen-year-old girl, is accepted as a member of a world famous women’s choir, where she will perform alongside her elder sister and other talented girls. Her extraordinary voice soon catches the attention of a renowned but somewhat mysterious conductor. What Karolina sees at first as a great achievement, soon brings a realisation that the privilege comes at a high price. Inspired by true events, the film takes a closer look at a relationship in which innocence is clashed against violence and abuse of power.
