She endured war, cruelty, and enormous loss, but remained unconsumed by hate, regardless. She chose forgiveness over vengeance, communication in place of silence, and love instead of hostility. This was not only a mere path to survival – in the world of today, her attitude becomes a new beacon of hope. In this immensely personal film, we witness the path of life chosen by Irena Veisaitė, one of the most iconic figures in Lithuanian culture. She suffered two totalitarian regimes, but the inner light she carried became an inspiration for generations to come. The film goes beyond being a historical testimony – it reminds us that the attitude of one person can really change the world.
