The New Year’s Eve at the turn of 1992 / 1993. Michal brings his Canadian girlfriend Charlie to celebrate the fall of Czechoslovakia. What he finds is his family in total chaos. His father suffers a heart attack, when it is revealed that he collaborated with the secret police of the fallen Communist regime, betraying both his country and his family. With his life in the hands of doctors, the rest of the family turn against one another. Each family member must confront their own feelings, facts, and a question: can they forgive their father for what he did in the past?
