Karine and Jimmy are a deeply bonded couple. The life they built together begins to fall apart, when Karine’s zeal for political activism puts more and more pressure on their relationship. With the ever increasing price to pay and their affection for one another constantly put to a test, they must face a heart-breaking dilemma: should they stay true to their beliefs or rather fight to save the bond that once seemed indestructible.

A film director and screenwriter from France. His films deal with social and political issues. To quote the filmmaker himself, ‘I watched films constantly, on and on, and that was my film school.’ His made his début with the short film ‘Rétention / Undocumented’ (2013). He gained international fame with the full-length début ‘La mécanique de l’ombre / Scribe’ (2016), a political thriller. His sophomore film ‘Les promesses / Promises’ (2022) premièred in the Horizons section at the Venice International Film Festival. Set in the town of Clichy-sous-Bois near Paris, the film portrays a local mayor and her associate, discussing the topic of local government and social tensions in contemporary France.
