Dawid, 14, takes care of his younger brother and tries to live up to his mother’s expectations, who struggles to put her toxic past behind her and start a new life. The father of the boys is serving a sentence, which means the family functions in a state of permanent tension and uncertainty. Dawid is a talented judo athlete with a chance for a career in sport with the support of an experienced mentor. With the atmosphere at home getting more and more complex, the boy struggles to keep his focus on school education and managing his emotions. The everyday challenge of combining school, workout sessions, and being responsible for his brother is slowly becoming too much to handle. The situation gets on another level of complication, when Konrad, the only adult person Dawid can trust to rely on, enters the family picture. This single event triggers a chain of consequences that can both destroy the family or save it. The film ‘Brother’ is a deeply emotional social drama about growing up in a world full of violence, pressure, and unfulfilled ambitions, where family bonds are put to a test.
