Marek is works as an assistant at the Faculty of History of the University of Warsaw, and Teresa is an anaesthetist at the clinic that belongs to the Medical Academy. They have two small children, and their life seems to be in good order. When their housemaid decides to leave, and Teresa is offered a scholarship in Holland, Marek gets into a conflict with a new vice-dean. He decides to quit and stay home. The situation seems to be under control, but Marek suddenly discovers that his wife accepted the scholarship meant for another person. Marek leaves home packed in just one suitcase. The films tells a story about a married couple going through a moral and emotional crisis. Is there a chance for them to go back?

Ryszard Bugajski

A film director, screenwriter, and writer from Poland. He is considered to be one of the most important filmmakers confronting Polish history from the 20th Century. He is most famous for the film ‘Przesłuchanie / Interrogation’ (1982), one of the monumental achievements in this history of Polish cinema. The film was banned from distribution by the Communist authorities for many years.
