Bianca, 13, is struggling to find some foundation in a world where she feels invisible both to her mother, whose affection and attention are totally dedicated to her younger brother with health deficiencies, and to her father and his new life partner Cruz, both of who consider Bianca to be a ‘difficult’ child. Everything changes, when Billie King, her favourite actress and cinema icon, arrives unexpectedly at their door. Within a single scorching summer day, marked by emotional chaos, the reality starts to blend with Bianca’s imagination. The girl discovers the reality to be quite different from what she believed it to be, and tries to find a way to reconnect with her mother. The film is an adaptation of a popular novel by Bart Moeyaert, becoming a subtle and truly imaginative story about adolescence, dreams, and the need to belong.
