  • Special Events
The concert will be held on the 32nd anniversary of the death of Helena Grossówna. It will be another musical journey into the culture of interwar Poland as part of the “House Party at Grossówna’s” series. Through songs from her rich filmography, we will remember the Toruń-born star of pre-war Polish cinema. The programme will include such classics as “Ach, śpij, kochanie”, and “Już nie zapomnisz mnie”.

Known by the nickname Maestro, Jakub Gawrysiak is a one-man orchestra and a seriously unserious musician: a multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger and cultural organiser. A stage performer inspired by the music of the interwar period, he is also a dedicated advocate of this repertoire. A passionate improviser, he studied in the United Kingdom and France. He is the co-founder and principal pianist of the British group RetroSingers. He has performed extensively in Poland and abroad, including in Italy and Germany. In 2019, he gave a concert for the Japanese broadcaster NHK from London’s St Pancras International station. He is also the composer of the bugle call of the town of Jabłonowo Pomorskie and was awarded the Golden Retro Leaf in 2024.
