The Stranger
The film is a new take on the novella ‘The Stranger’ penned by Albert Camus in 1942, considered to be one of the most outstanding pieces of literature of the 20th Century. In the film by François Ozon, we follow the story of Meursault, a modest civil servant, whose daily routine makes him indifferent to anything - including the death of his mother. Until, one scorching day on a beach, a tragic event occurs. The newest adaptation from François Ozon offers a very up-to-date story about looking for meaning in a world devoid of any meaning. The unique atmosphere in the film is achieved with minimalistic dialogues and beautiful black and white cinematography, paying homage to the classic film era.
