A film director and artist from Palestine, recognised for his unique cinematic style. He studied at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne, worked as an academic teacher at The New School in New York and the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin (German Film and Television Academy Berlin). He received a scholarship from the Radcliffe Institute Fellowship Program at Harvard University, and from the Columbia Institute for Ideas and Imagination in Paris. In September 2025, he became a resident of the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris. His installation art named ‘The Camera of the Dispossessed’ was presented at the 35th edition of the São Paulo Art Biennial (2023). In 2024, he had a full retrospective of his artistic achievements at IndieLisboa IFF and Cinemateca Portuguesa. In 2025, there was a retrospective held as the Filmoteca Española. The film ‘A Fidai Film’ from 2024 was presented at over one hundred film festivals around the world, winning several international film awards. The film ‘With Hasan in Gaza’ is his latest film production.
