Nico is young and talented, but he finds it hard to find his place in the world. He feels superfluous — he has nothing to fight for, or invest his energy into. When yet another endeavour becomes a failure, he decides to give up on everything and chooses to go nowhere. He leaves school and wanders around in Berlin, living a hand-to-mouth existence, not worrying about the future, and watching the reality. This is the only rebellion he is capable of pulling off...
