Orlando (Francisco Reyes) is planning a birthday surprise for his partner Marina (Daniela Vega), a woman much younger than he is. He gives her the present during a romantic evening, which the couple spends in Santiago, eating dinner and dancing. After they have returned to the apartment, the man collapses. Marina takes him to hospital, where she must confront Orlando’s family, as well as medical personnel and the police force, all of which show a hostile attitude. Resulting from the tragic circumstances, the woman will have to fight for the right to her own feelings, dignity, and even to be in mourning.
