Jong-soo makes a living by taking odd jobs in the town of Paju, located close to the Korean Demilitarised Zone. One day, he runs into Hae-mi, a girl he used to go to school with. They go for a drink and Hae-mi tells Jong-soo that she used to like him, when she was younger, but he would keep on ignoring her. The girl confides in him about her plan to go to Africa, and wants Jong-soo to look after her cat, when she is away. Jong-soo falls for Hae-mi and impatiently awaits her return. However, when the plane lands, Jong-soo sees Hea-mi in the company of Ben, a rich man she met back in Kenia...
