Thomas Hutter leaves her beloved wife Ellen at home, and travels to visit Count Orlok to assist him in signing an agreement for the sale of a house in his home town of Wisborg. On his way there, people try to warn Thomas about the count, but the young boy refuses to believe any stories about an alleged vampire. Hutter reaches the castle where a bloodthirsty Nosferatu is awaiting him... An image of Ellen saves the boy against the final attack of the vampire. Fascinated with the woman, Nosferatu goes to Wisborg by sea...
