Residents in one of the towns in the Polish region of Pomerania are shocked to the core by brutal murders of very young boys. The killer always uses the same gun and leaves a peculiar “trademark” at every crime scene ― it is a toy with the image of a cat... This time, Commissioner Teofil Herman, who has been a very successful police officer so far, finds it very difficult to catch the culprit, which makes the intimidated residents of the town very dissatisfied with him. There is also an escalating conflict with his son, which makes his work all the more complicated. When he finally picks up a trail of the killer, he also makes a very dramatic discovery...
