Piotr Pacek to receive the Pola Negri Honorary Film Award funded by Marshal of Kujawsko-Pomorskie and presented to actors of the young generation
The Pola Negri Film Award from Marshal of Kujawsko-Pomorskie was given for the very first time last year, during the 20th edition of the festival. In 2022, it was awarded to Julia Szczepańska for her début on the silver screen. This year, we are going to give to Piotr Pacek, another talented actor representing the young generation of Polish cinema.
It is a great pleasure for us that this year we are going to award the Pola Negri Honorary Film Award funded by Marshal of Kujawsko-Pomorskie already for the second time, during our festival. The winner of the award is an exceptionally talented actor Piotr Pacek from Bydgoszcz, comments Kafka Jaworska, director of the Tofifest IFF. Kujawy Pomorze Region.
Piotr Pacek is a graduate of the Leon Schiller Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź. The actor has already made a name for himself playing in many television productions and full feature films. Among them are the super production ‘Król’ made for Canal+, the series ‘Sexify’ made for Netflix, the film ‘Gry rodzinne / Family Secrets’ directed by Łukasz Ostalski, and ‘Brigitte Bardot Cudowna / Brigitte Bardot Forever’ directed by Lech Majewski. These are only a few of the film production that feature the actor, and which have won the hearts of both film critics and viewers alike. Among the qualities Piotr Pacek is particularly applauded for is the diverse characters that he portrays and the ability to individualize his protagonists. The actor is not only offered roles in Polish film productions, and he already has a number of roles in international film projects. The already highly anticipated costume drama ‘Kos / Scarborn’ directed by Paweł Maślona, in which Piotr Pacek plays one of the main protagonists, is going to have its première this year. This coming autumn comes a new television crime series ‘Lipowo. Zmowa milczenia’ based on the best-selling novel penned by Katarzyna Puzyńska.
The 21st edition of The Tofifest International Film Festival. Kujawy Pomorze Region takes place from 27th June, 2023, to 2nd July, 2023, (as always) in Toruń. Our festival audiences can see festival screenings at various locations, namely the Festival Centre in the Cultural and Congress Centre Jordanki, Cinema City, an open-air cinema in the yard of the Old Town City Hall, and in the Końcówa pub.
