Petr is a biology teacher. He encourages his pupils to get to know the lushness of nature, and thus also themselves. However, little does he know how much he must yet learn about himself and his desires he is trying to escape from. He decides to go and work in a village school, leaving his parents and all unfulfilled love affairs behind in Prague. Having arrived, he befriends Marie and her teenage son, Lada. Soon, the three of them develop very strong bonds. The Country Teacher is a touching story about people, who are desperate for love, but also too scared or uncertain to see it, when it has finally stepped in their lives.
