This is a film about El Topo — a nameless tramp and gunslinger. The man is travelling through a desert with his little boy, when they find a village with all its residents wiped out. In an attempt to avenge them, El Topo kills cruel and perverted bandits terrorising this area. He also saves a woman from their hands and takes her on a mission to defeat four gun masters. El Topo successfully undertakes a series of trials, in order to win her heart. As a result, he ends up empty-handed, as all he had fought for is now gone. He is found in the desert by a clan of cripples and dwarves, only to wake up after many years of coma, as a holy fool…
