The film presents a picture of a small town and its residents. In Rzeźnia nr 1 (Polish for “Slaughterhouse No. 1”), the director combines a number of different plots, creating intriguing portraits of provincial wealthy men, poor people, and criminals. Butcher Kisała cannot speak the same language with his children, Magda dreams about going to a big city, while Krzysztof wants to finally settle down — although he has no idea for his new life.
