Following a series of triumphs of the Steve Nash & Turntable Orchestra project, it is time for a new demonstration of work composed by this artist from Toruń.

Steve Nash, who is a composer, producer, pianist, and DJ famous for his unconventional musical solutions, has decided that it is time to work with best soundtracks from Polish and international cinema, including the work composed by Ennio Morricone, Nino Rota, Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Andrzej Kurylewicz, and Krzysztof Komeda — Steve Nash has arranged his work, according to different musical styles and genres.

He has asked very original musicians to join his project, all of whom are artists that mix different styles, combine genres, and look for their own musical expression. When creating his band named Film Orchestra and comprised of nine people, Steve Nash also made an effort to take advantage of the musical potential of Toruń itself.

The following people take part in the project:

This is what Steve Nash had to say about his project: “What I find the most inspiring about music is the possibility of combining different styles, mixing genres, and cooperating with artists that look for new ways of expressing themselves. The artists I have asked to work with me represent different worlds of musics, but they have one thing in common: they are all highly qualified professionals. Let me just name a few: Sławek Kosiński — a rock guitar player; Marek Pospieszalski — a jazz saxophone player; Brian Massaka — a music producer, who uses the foundation of instrumental hip-hop; or DJ Funktion — a three-time world champion of DJs. Such cooperation means crossing of boundaries and provides an opportunity to acquire a new quality in music. As far as soundtracks are considered, my idols are Krzysztof Komeda and Nino Rota, which means that among the musical topics that I have used to compose my piece, there are, among others, fragments from such notable films as Histoires extraordinaires by Federico Fellini or Knife in the Water by Roman Polański. I am also inspired by extraordinary vocalists, such as Tomasz Organek and Natalia Nykiel.”
